Yaeger Celebrates Historic Preservation Month

At Yaeger, Historic Preservation Month is an opportunity to reflect on the enduring value of the built environment and the stories it holds. Historic Preservation is not just a practice; it’s a cornerstone of our mission. As we celebrate this month, we’re proud to highlight the projects that exemplify how thoughtful design can successfully bridge history and progress.

Our Approach to Preservation

Throughout our portfolio, we’ve had the privilege of working on projects that honor the past while supporting the needs of today’s users. From military installations to civic landmarks, our preservation efforts are rooted in commitment to protecting historic character, enhancing performance, and extending the life of meaningful spaces.

Preservation Projects

Through our work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Air Force, Department of Interior, and other DoD partners, our team has contributed to the stewardship of significant sites across the country. These projects span a diverse range of historic structures – each with its own story and purpose.

From the adaptive reuse of Building 102 at Fort Leavenworth, originally constructed in 1859 and now revitalized as part of the Army University campus, to the transformation of Building 465, once a hospital and now a modern facility supporting the Civilian Education System, our work reflects a balance between historic integrity and modern functionality.

Beyond military installations, the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of historic properties into mixed-use and multifamily spaces demonstrate how preservation can serve as a catalyst for urban revitalization.

Across every project, our focus remains the same: protecting defining historic features while adapting spaces to serve modern needs.

Looking Ahead

Historic preservation will continue to play a vital role in shaping resilient, sustainable environments. Looking forward, our commitment remains clear: to deliver preservation solutions that honor the past, support present needs, and anticipate future challenges.
